All these stories are true!!  Some of them actually happened.

Christmas, New Year's, and Epiphany have all been busy. As wonderful as the liturgical seasons of Advent, Christmas, and later Lent and Easter time are, it is always nice to return to the green of Ordinary (that is, ordered) time.

We got word from Bruce Bacia that he has had a bout with cancer. He had one surgery in May and a second one recently. Fortunately, things went well with the surgeries, and they did catch the cancer very early on. Nevertheless, please keep Bruce, his wife, Deyanira, and their children in your prayers. Bruce was a temporarily professed seminarian in the Indiana Province. He and John Korcsmar made their novitiate together in Bennington and professed in 1968.

John Korcsmar flew down to Lima for the first profession of three novices from the Southern Province and the reception of another into the novitiate. The three Southern Province novices professing are

  • Mario Guzmán González,
  • Javier Herminio Garcia,
  • and Alfredo Olvera Ledesma,
  • along with
  • Presvítero Delgado Delgado, fof the District of Perú,
  • Luiz Carlos Camelo Gaspar, of the District of Brazil (CP), and
  • Aquilino Torres Palomino, of the District of Perú
The novices request their vows. Javier stands tall as he professes his vows.
Alfredo professes his vows. Mario signs his document as John reflects on it.
