After Mass with profession, the reception and dinner, and then the reception of the new novices all the guests left. On Monday, Len and the three Southern Province newly professed will go to to Cusco and climb up Machu Pichu. John would have gladly gone with them and seen the wonderful view from the top. However, there wasn't enough time to borrow the papal chair which 6 or 8 men use to carry the Holy Father. And besides urgent pastoral responsibilities kept him away. After all, he is already seeing too many views from high up on airplanes.

Brother Thomas Krieter and Father John Korcsmar drove down from Austin to Monterrey for Marin Hernandez's perpetual profession.

While they were visiting the candidates' house, Father Len Collins showed them his new vest.  It was made special for him at Machu Pichu from alpaca wool.  Tom and John were surprised because they had never known that there were blue alpacas.  They were even saddened to think that there is a poor alpaca on top of Machu Pichu and is suffering from the cold without its fur.  We hope Fr. Len realizes how some one else has to be cold so that he can be warm!
