At Dolores Parish, the rains came again on the day before Palm Sunday.  There was a sudden downpour just before the 5:30 p.m. Saturday Mass.  The blessing of palms and procession to the church were planned, and everything was ready, but a very heavy rain just before Mass changed all that!!  But the Masses on Sunday went well: two in Spanish, one in English, and one in Mayalayam. 

Father John Korcsmar (who along with Sr. Ann Monica Nguyen, CSC) is on the board of Catholic Charities of Central Texas attended the annual board meeting and dinner with Bishop Aymond.  In this picture, Caldwell Prejean, the outgoing president of Catholic Charities, is thanked by Bishop Aymond, the bishop of Austin.

Catholic Charities of Central Texas is a relatively new project.  They currently have two major programs: 

• Parish Social Ministries which helps parishes develop programs.  The goal is to make social ministry as prominent a program as liturgy and religious education as part of the parish mission.  
• Office of Immigrant Concerns provides legal and other services for those who want to gain legal residence in the U.S.  Mr. Leo Anchondo, who had been director of Immigrant Concerns, was just hired by the USCCB to be the director of the Catholic Campaign for Immigration Reform.

Holy Thursday arrives.  The Franciscan Sisters work hard to prepare the church.  We have a very nice altar of repose for Holy Thursday because of all the work of the Sisters.

Father Frank Zlotkowsi came to Dolores Parish to participate in the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord's Supper.  We all appreciated his visit!!!!
