On Holy Saturday, Father Pat Rearden, OP, and Father John Korcsmar heard confessions at Dolores Parish.  As you can see, they were rather severe in the penances they gave.

Actually, this is from the Phillipines, but we thought it made a good story.

We received an Easter message from Fr. Bob Gilmour in Ghana:

To Our Holy Cross Family in the Southern Province,

A HAPPY EASTER TO YOU

Our Easter wish for you is that our risen Lord give all of us the joy and
peace that only He can.  May our Easter celebrations purify our minds,
strengthen our spirits, give us victory over all sin and death and  bring us
one day to the feast of eternal happiness.

Almighty God we entrust our Holy Cross Southern Province Family who are dear to us to your never failing care and love for this life and the life to come knowing that you
are doing for them better things than we can desire or pray for through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

A Happy Easter to all of you from Moreau House Butumagyebu, Ghana.

In Holy Cross,

Bob Gilmour, C.S.C.

Pope John Paul II attemps to talk from his studio window overlooking St.Peter's Square, at the Vatican, Wednesday, March 30, 2005. The pontiff looked out for about four minutes, blessed pilgrims in St. Peter's Square and tried to speak, but the words were not clear. The ailing pontiff raised his hand in blessing and made the sign of the cross as a Vatican official read greetings and prayers. (AP Photo/Pier Paolo Cito)
