Father John Korcsmar went to Rome for the first meeting of the general vocations and formation commission. Brother Joseph Tsiquaye, general assistant, is the chair. Father Mario LaChapelle, also a general assistant, was also there for the meetings.
Brother Joseph presented the commission with the Vocations and Formation Guide that has been prepared and was approved by the provincials at the Council of the Congregation. This work is the result of much preparation by different people over the years. We have standards and norms to be used in vocations and formation through the entire Congregation.
It is hoped that Fr. Moreau will be beatified soon. At that time, Fr. Hugh Cleary, superior general, will prepared a letter and declare the Year of Fr. Moreau. We also plan to have the Year of Vocations begin six months after that.

| The Holy Father must have been out of coffee because he didn't offer us any. The pope spoke in several languages. His Spanish was better than his English. He spoke with a German--Latin American accent. I asked the German fellow next to me how his German pronunciation was. He said, "Pretty good!" |
