Members of the South-West and the Southern Provinces met at Brother Vincent Pieau Residence in Austin to listen to Dr. Monica Applewhite from Praesidium concerning preventing sexual abuse of minors and of vulnerable adults. She also spoke about ways of protecting oneself from false allegations.
Although this is indeed a difficult topic, the concern of the two provincials is that we do all we can to prevent the sexual abuse of children and vulnerable adults. This present is part of the certification process for the two provinces.
Father Bill Crumley flew in from Charenton, LA, as did Father Bob Villegas from Chamberino, NM. There will be another workshop in Sherman Oaks, CA and one more in Monterrey, Nuevo León.

The following day, Sunday, Father Ed Kadzielawski and Father John Korcsmar celebrated the Anointing of the Sick at Dolores Parish. Afterwards, caldo (soup) was served in the Family Center after the Mass. Caldo was chosen because this anointing at Mass started with a special effort for the elderly. Enchiladas, tacos, and fajitas are all delicious, but caldo does not require as many teeth.
