Capital I.D.E.A. is an adult job training program.  The training and classes are geared according to jobs that employers have and need workers for.  The jobs must pay a living wage and have a career path.  Students have their tuition and books paid for.  There are also counselors who work closely with the students to make sure that they stay on task and develop the study habits and skills needed.

Dolores Parish has consistently been the largest source of students for Capital I.D.E.A.  The pictures below are from a recent orientation session in the Dolores Family Center.

The Diocese of Austin held its annual Priests' Convocation.  This was the largest one ever held: 139 priests were there.  There were two Holy Cross priests there.

It had two main topics: restructuring the diocese, how the parish arrangements and deaneries are organized might be the most effective for ministry and the sacrament of reconciliation.  A good time was had by all!!

Fr. Joe Tomei, CSC was one of the priests on the Priestly Life Commission that planned the event.  Well done, Joseph!!

It's good to have Sr. Rose around when you are stung by a honey bee.    (Photo by Sr. Lili who took inordinate pleasure in watching Fr. John suffer!!!)
