The Texas I.A.F. Network had a meeting with the teachers' unions and the I.A.F. organizers and leaders.

Doug Greco, lead organizer of Austin Interfaith, is on the left. Luis Malfaro, on the right, is the president of Education Austin (a combined teachers' union with both Texas Federation of Teachers and the Texas State Teachers Association). There was a discussion some of the issues facing public education in Texas.

Sr. Carlota LeBeouf, MSC has been working with some of the families in the Dove Springs area of Austin. Many of the families there are immigrant. As a way of having a public presence in the area and of gathering some of the families together, she organized a number of evenings of posadas. She started with three evenings planned, but then some of the families asked to host more evenings. The event consists of singing the Posadas, the story of Joseph and Mary asking for posada, a place to stay. They also pray the rosary, and there is folklórico. The last event is the piñata.

John Korcsmar is and has been the diocesan director (Austin) for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. Ms. Susan Stolfa, who has been on the national staff of CCHD, has been working as the coordinator with John. She had worked on the national staff and a few years ago had worked in Austin and had recently returned. For reasons of "intergenerational health issues), she will have to leave again. We wish her well. May God bless!

At Dolores Parish, we have a dinner with all of the people involved in some form of ministry. It is a nice, relaxed opportunity for us to come together during the Christmas season.
