Sister Lili Martínez continues to organize.  Here she is at the end of a workshop on citizenship and immigration at Sacred Heart Parish.  It looks as though Lili knows everybody!

Is she glad-handing?  Blessing??  Threatening to give John a judo chop????

Father John Korcsmar received a plaque for Dolores Parish in appreciation of the work that they did there with the volunteers IRS workers.  There were 1,067 returns filed at Dolores, 270 ITIN applications (a number used to file income tax for those without a social security number),  There were $555,087 in Earned Income Tax Credits received.
Father John Korcsmar drove over to Houston to the Carmelite Sisters' place.  They were celebrating the 50th anniversary of vows of Sr. Dulce Maria and Sr. Gisela.  Sr. Dulce had worked in the kitchen at Holy Cross College in Washington and then Moreau Seminary at Notre Dame, IN.  The Carmelite Sisters were the ones who taught John Spanish.
Sr. Dulce Maria looks at some of her gifts. She seems to have done well!!
Sr. Gisela looks as though she won the lotto!! Sr. Socorro shared a word with one of the guests.

On June 10, Alfredo Olvera Ledesma, CSC, completed his philosophy studies at the Monterrey Seminary. The celebration began with a Mass at 5 PM. Father Len Collins concelebrated with the Vice-Rector and many professors. After Mass there was a ceremony in the auditorium with the presentation of diplomas. That was followed by a fiesta in Alfredo's honor at the Professed House. Congratulations, Alfredo, on a job well done. Now it is on to Theology!
