Father John Korcsmar went up to the little town of Bryan, TX to meet with a couple of parish priests and a few parish leaders. It turned out to be about 20 parish leaders, along with one TV reporter and a couple of newspaper reporters.
Fortunately the topic was immigration reform, so it was something that John knew something about. The press coverage was rather positive, which was kind of surprising.
The big event on the last day of June was Brother Richard Daly's farewell as the executive director of the Texas Catholic Conference. There was a reception in the Maloney Room of the Main Building at St. Edward's University. There was a large turnout of people who had worked with him in the conference, in the city, in the diocese, as well as many, many Holy Cross people.
