John Korcsmar went to an immigration workshop in Washington, DC. The Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (C.L.I.N.I.C.) provides immigration legal services. One part of their agency provides assistance for priests and religious and other religious workers (from other countries) who want to serve the Church in the United States.
The workshop centered on two areas. The first was how the process for visas for religious workers is done. The second was the process of getting visas for students from other countries. As we want to build up links with parts of the Congregation in other parts of the world, immigration rules are very important.
When he returned home, John saw the Notre Dame--Michigan State game. John was getting worried. If Notre Dame loses, he sure gets a lot of grief at Dolores. When Notre Dame pulled it out in the last few minutes, he wondered how many people had gone to bed thinking that they could give him grief in the morning, but he would get to tell them what really happened.
The following Saturday, Notre Dame played Purdue. John left during the first half to do an anniversary Mass. He came back, and Notre Dame had given up a touchdown. When it was time for John to go hear confessions, John told Fr. Kadzielawski that he was in charge of the lead. Unfortunately, Fr. Kadz did not protect the lead very well, but at least Notre Dame had enough of a lead to still win.
