The priests and brothers of the Indiana Province gathered at Notre Dame for the province assembly. Over 260 religious attended. The theme was "To make God known, loved, and served." There were presentations by Brother Joel Giallanza from the South-West Province and Father David Guffey of the Indiana Province on Father Moreau.

In Austin, Travis County did an in-depth study of
immigrants in Travis County. They gave a summary of the report and
had some discussions in break-out sessions.
They held this meeting in Jones Auditorium at St. Edward's University. Among the findings: 1 of 5 workers in Travis County is foreign-born. Between 1990 and 2005, Travis County's immigrant population grew 230%, from 45,000 to 148,000. The entire report can be seen online on the Community Action Webpage: www.caaction.org. |
