John Korcsmar flew to Raleigh to witness the marriage of his cousin's daughter and her boy friend, Alan.  The trip was long because of a storm in Houston.  John left the parish at 7:30 a.m. and got to Raleigh at midnight.  The storm closed the Houston airport, so the plane (with John in it) sat parked for a couple of hours.  John's next flight was cancelled, the next two flights were full, so John got there on the last flight, arriving at midnight.

The wedding went well.  The reception went well.  A good time was had by all!

Just in case you are wondering, John did not catch the bride's bouquet.

I thought that I had heard it all before, but then there's this one.  We have had a LOT of rain in Austin.  It has been raining and raining and raining some more.

This morning it rained so hard that Father John Korcsmar couldn't (shall we say "wouldn't"??) walk from his house over to Brother Thomas' house.  It was really pouring.  John normally will walk in the rain.  Some say he doesn'thave sense enough to come out of the rain.  But it really poured this morning.

David Uribe, who has been working at St. Ed's as director of the mentor and work-study programs, has decided to enter the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, the O.M.I.'s.  He had come to St. Ed's years ago as a candidate with them, but left the program.  Carmen Cortes-Harms, who works at the Mexican consulate in Austin, hosted a going-away party for him.  We wish him well, and we know that the Oblates are getting a good man.
